Plymouth Bus Service Changes September 2015

September will see a significant number of changes in the city’s bus network following the acquisition of First South Devon operations by Stagecoach from 6 September.

Stagecoach will be launching a new network of services to replace many of the current First routes. Changes will include some new route numbers and revised frequencies. The new Plymouth network will be as follows:

  • 1/X1 Plymouth - Derriford Hospital - Yelverton - Tavistock (currently routes 83/86)
  • 2/2A Saltash - Plymouth - Mount Batten (currently routes 1/1A & 2/2A)
  • 3 Plymouth - Kingsbridge; Kingsbridge - Dartmouth (currently route 93)
  • 48 Plymouth - Plymstock - Wembury
  • 100 The George Park and Ride - Milehouse P&R - Plymouth (currently route PR1)
  • 101The George Park and Ride - Derriford Hospital - Milehouse P&R - Plymouth (currently route PR1A)
  • 200 Coypool Park and Ride - Plymouth (currently route PR2)
  • 804 to 809 Schools Services

Stagecoach’s existing routes X38 to Buckfastleigh and Exeter and Gold to Ivybridge, Totnes and Torquay will continue with minor amendments.

The following routes will be withdrawn:

  • 3/3A Plymouth - St Budeaux circular
  • 6 Plymouth - Efford
  • 15 Plymouth - Woolwell
  • 76 Plymouth - Launceston
  • 81/81D Plymouth – Torpoint

Plymouth Citybus will also be making changes to their network on the following dates:

From 30 August the following services will change:

  • 10/10A/10B Plymouth – Saltash
  • 11 Plymouth – Liskeard
  • 12 Plymouth – Launceston/Bude
  • 32/32A/32B – Plymouth – Torpoint – Cremyll
  • 35/35A – Plymouth – North Prospect
  • 50 – Ernesettle – Plymouth – Derriford Hospital

From 6 September the following new service will be introduced:

  • 42C – Plymouth – Woolwell

From 20 September the following services will change:

  • 5/5A Plymouth – Staddiscombe
  • 20A Plymouth – Ivybridge
  • 21/21A – Plympton – Plymouth – St Budeaux/Barne Barton
  • 42/42A/42B– Plymouth – Derriford Hospital – Tamerton Foliot
  • 46 – Plymouth – Okehampton
  • 72 – Plymouth – Polperro

From 20 September the following services will be withdrawn:

  • 4/4A Plymouth – Mount Batten
  • 42 Plymouth – Tavistock (Derriford to Tavistock section only)
  • 45 Plymouth – Ivybridge
  • 49 Plymouth – Heybrook Bay (replaced by Target Travel)

Customers living in Woolwell are advised that the new Plymouth Citybus service 42C will start from Monday 7 September following the withdrawal of First service 15 on Saturday 5 September.

Customers living in Oreston are advised that although service 2/2A will be withdrawn from 5 September Plymouth Citybus service 4/4A will provide an alternative service until Saturday 19 September. From Sunday 20 September Plymouth Citybus services 5/5A will serve Oreston.

No replacement service will be provided in Glenholt. The nearest service will be Stagecoach services 100/101 from the George Junction Park and Ride.
