The Bipolar Organization is a national user-led charity for people whose lives are affected by bipolar, providing information and support.

BPD World

Although focussed on Borderline Personality Disorder, this site also provides information, advice and support for sufferers of Avoidant and other personality disorders, depression, schizophrenia, self harm and other common mental health illnesses and addresses a range of other mental health and related issues, including domestic violence and child abuse. The site also provides mental health forums and chat.

Depression Alliance

Charity providing information and support services to those affected by depression.

Harmless

Harmless is a user led organisation that provides support, information, training and consultancy to people who self harm, their friends, families and professionals.

Living Life to the full

An online course that aims to provide access to high quality, practical and user-friendly training in life skills, written by a Psychiatrist using a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) approach. The course is free but you will need to register first.

Mental Health Alliance

Website of the MHA, a campaigning coalition of 75 organisations with an interest in mental health, includes links to core and associate members' websites.

Mental Health Foundation

The MHF describe this as "the biggest website on mental health (and mental illness) in the UK", providing information about mental health issues, and a gateway to other mental health resources.

Mind

The leading mental health charity in England and Wales, working to advance the views and needs of people with mental health problems, promoting inclusion, campaigning and education. Website includes information about their helpline and local branches.

A wealth of information for professionals, patients and the public.

OCD-UK

Provides accessible and effective support services for anyone suffering with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

Papyrus

PAPYRUS is a voluntary UK organisation committed to the prevention of young suicide and the promotion of mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Royal College of Psychiatrists

Mental Health Information includes pages related to alcohol and drug problems, anxiety, bereavement, learning disabilities, sleep problems, manic depression, dementia and stress. The RCP website includes sections about children and older people, and for parents, carers and teachers.

The Samaritans

24/7 support by phone or email for anyone experiencing feelings of distress or despair.
