How we spend your Council Tax

The Valuation Office Agency gives each property a band between A and H depending on the property's value. The amount you pay depends on which band your property is in.

You can view and manage your Council Tax online with a My Plymouth account.

You will need your Council Tax reference number. You can find this on your bill, it’s an 8 digit number beginning with 4 or 5.

If you have lost your bill you can request a copy of your bill.

Every year in March, we issue over 120,000 paper Council Tax bills.

You can swap from paper bills to paperless bills. This helps to save paper and all your bills are stored safely in your online account.
