Plymouth Children and Young People's Plan 2011 to 2014

All Local Authorities are required to develop a Children and Young People's Plan (CYPP). This strategic plan describes the joint agency approach in the local authority area for children’s services, and set out the vision and key priorities agreed by those agencies in helping children and young people to achieve the best outcome.

The Plymouth Children and Young People's Plan 2011 to 2014 has been developed by the Plymouth Children and Young People's Trust. For the first time the priorities were subject to open public consultation and are based on the views of thousands of children, young people and families in the city.

The five designated priorities support the Plymouth 2020 priorities and are:

  • Equip young people with skills, knowledge and opportunities to make a successful transition to adulthood
  • Improve levels of achievement for all children and young people
  • Tackle child poverty
  • Provide all children with the best possible start to live
  • Tackle risk taking behaviour through locality delivered services

The outline plan below was endorsed by the Children and Young People's Trust Board on 11 March 2011 and has been endorsed by Full Council and NHS Professional Executive Committee.
