Chaz Singh
Chaz was elected first Sikh Councillor in 2011. He was born in Birmingham and moved to Plymouth in 2002.

He has been involved in retail since leaving secondary school, initially as a retail assistant to running a family business in Plymouth.
Family
Married to Saranjit Kaur in 1995 and they have 2 children.
- Ms Amrit-Pali Kaur, who is currently studying at Coombe Dean School, attends ATC 197 Squadron, and is hoping to study medicine in the future
- Master Karan-Jeet Singh, who is also studying at Coombe Dean School, and attending ATC 197 Squadron. He would like to pursue a career in science
Since moving to Plymouth Chaz has been active in various projects around Arts and Culture in Schools and Colleges across the South West Peninsula.
He is currently working at Fata He BME Development Ltd in Devonport and is Vice Chair at Pelican Nursery and Budshead Trust.
Chaz actively promotes Dartmoor National Park of which he is a Community Champion.
Over the past 10 years Chaz has always promoted Plymouth as his home and place of work.
Awards include:
- Modern Day St George Award 2006 – National England, London
- Sikh Channel Community Sewa Award 2011, Birmingham
He speaks English, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.
