Estover Community Campus
BSF One School Pathfinder
This £39 million lifelong learning campus is the second campus to be built in Plymouth, and it is one of the biggest investments for children and young people in the city.
Once complete it will be home to Estover Community College as well as Estover Primary School, Plymbridge Children's Centre and Nursery School, the Soundhouse, Estover Library, Estover Youth Centre, part of Plymouth Hospital School and Downham School. All the organisations have been involved in shaping the complex, which has been designed by award-winning architects, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, part of the design team for contractors, Keir Western.
In November 2009, a 'Topping Out Ceremony' marked the roofs being placed on the buildings that formed the first phase of the project. Since then work has continued to complete the buildings, which when finished will become the maths and English blocks, humanities, social science and business block, Downham Special School as well as the main entrance building which will eventually house the art and design space, the library, dining facilities as well as community rooms and museum and exhibition space.
Project Managers, EC Harris, are working with the College on the detail of the handover/move programme of events for this phase of the build, which will predominately take place at the end of the summer term 2010.
