Family-Friendly Summer Activities: Bugs, Boards and Fairytales

Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery, Drake Circus
Until 30 August 2012, Tuedays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Admission is free to all events. Activities and drop-in and run from 10.30am to 1pm (last entries at 12.30pm) and no need to book in advance unless stated otherwise.

We've got a massive programme of activities for children and families on offer on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at the City Museum and Art Gallery this summer!

Beetle Mania

Beetles have been around for thousands of years. The Egyptians thought they were sacred and the Japanese kept them as pets! Make beetle hieroglyphics and write the story of the scarab, as well as a stained glass window and some beetle origami.

Grimms Fairy Tales: Mother Holle/The Three Little Birds
Tuesday 28 August 2012, 11am to 12 noon


Storytellers from around the globe are taking part in 'The Project Grimm' to make sure the whole collection of over 200 Grimms' Fairy Tales is performed. In this fun, interactive session, professional storyteller David Heathfield (dressed as Wilhelm Grimm) tells the fairy tale of ‘Mother Holle’ and then takes us on a flight of the imagination with 'The Three Little Birds'.
