This Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) is located in the east of Plymouth in the area of Prince Rock and covers an area of 0.2ha. The site was designated as a SSSI in 1986 because of the geological interest in the crinoidal limestone, slates and tuffs exposed by the road. Its stromatoporoid limestone development is the first such appearance in the Plymouth Limestone Group.
