Plymouth Flavour Fest - 15 to 17 August 2008

Prepare your taste buds and work up an appetite for Plymouth Flavour Fest 2008, taking place from Friday 15 August until Sunday 17 August on the Piazza and Armada Way in Plymouth City Centre. Relive the action and atmosphere from 2007 and prepare for all the excitement in 2008 by watching our Flavour Fest video.

A highlight of the Plymouth Summer Festival, the three-day free event will welcome a massive 100 stalls packed with tasty offerings from fine food producers across the South West.

The Piazza will be transformed into a bustling continental-style market, full of colour and the smells of delicious food being prepared. Taste, try and buy everything from organic meat and vegetables, to oysters and delicious preserves from fine food producers from across the region.

The popular cookery theatre returns, showcasing inspiring techniques from top chefs including the city's own Chris and James Tanner.

There is a welcome return of the popular Kids in the Kitchen, which will give children the chance to get hands-on with food, encouraging them to take an interest in food and healthy eating.

New for 2008 will be the giant outdoor screen which will be broadcasting all the action from the Beijing Olympics and chef demonstrations from the Cookery Theatre. An Olympic Food Village will be located close to the screen showcasing delicious food from around the world using local produce. Sport personalities will also be dropping in throughout the event to offer their advice on the perfect food for Olympic athletes.

Take your time to explore the UK’s biggest and best farmers market; learn new skills from our stars in the cookery theatre and sample the tasty food on offer, but most of all enjoy the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that surrounds this unique event. Flavour Fest is free to the public and is open from 10am to 5pm Friday 15, 9am to 5pm on Saturday 16 and 10am to 4pm on Sunday 17 August.
