High View School
Plym View School and Highfield Community School merged in September 2009 to become High View School, which now incorporates a nursery, a Children’s Centre and space for sports and arts for the community.
The £8.6 million school is part of Plymouth's Primary Capital Programme. In May 2010, a 'Topping Out Ceremony' was held to mark the construction of the highest part of the new High View School building at Torridge Way in Efford, an important milestone in the project.
Constructed by Interserve and designed by Plymouth based architects ADG, the project has been developed in close consultation with school and community stakeholders and user groups.
The new school, which is scheduled to open in February 2011, will have a hall for sports, a performing arts hall, a studio with changing rooms for community use, meeting rooms and a media suite where youngsters can continue their award-winning film making and animation work.
