The Strategic Procurement Unit
The Strategic Procurement Unit, formed in late 2004, offers advice to staff and suppliers on all aspects of procurement and contractual matters.
The team, led by the Head of Strategic Procurement, is working to make the Council's procurement processes and procedures as efficient and user-friendly as possible to make the maximum possible savings for the Council.
The Strategic Procurement Unit’s objectives are outlined in the Corporate Procurement Strategy 2004 to 2007 (see documents table below).
What rules apply to Plymouth City Council procurement?
Plymouth City Council staff must follow the rules outlined in our Contract Standing Orders (see attachment below) when purchasing goods, works or services.
The main points to be aware of are explained in our Simple Guide to Contract Standing Orders (see documents table below).
We ask that staff contact us if they intend to procure goods or services valued above £75,000.
