Weighbridge operators licence

Anyone who carries out public weighings for a charge must hold a certificate from a Chief Inspector of Weights and Measures, showing that they have sufficient knowledge for the proper performance of the duties involved. Applicants for a certificate are tested and are required to demonstrate that they can operate the weighbridge satisfactorily before a certificate is issued.

To apply to be tested for a certificate please either, telephone the duty officer or email us with the following details:

• your name
• contact details
• details of the weighbridge

Currently no fee is payable for the test.
