Christmas Lights

Farmers market

With 25 stalls setting up twice a month selling a wide variety of local produce, the city centre farmers market is a lively and bustling market to visit. Situated by the sundial in the heart of the city centre shoppers can source produce which has been reared, grown or made by local farmers.

Visitors to the market can expect to find locally reared ostrich meat, pork, beef, lamb, locally grown strawberries and vegetables, plus locally produced cheeses, chutney, pies and pasties. The market is held in the city centre on the second Saturday of the month and is open from 9am to 5pm.


Plymouth Christmas lights switch on

Thursday 13 November
Cornwall Street

A spectacular Christmas Lights switch-on is planned this year with entertainment taking place across the city centre.

The fun starts with 97FM Plymouth Sound’s Morning Crew who will kick off the festivities at 4pm centred around a large stage to be built at the top end of Cornwall Street with a full entertainments programme.

Celebrities will be announced nearer the date.

The event also signals the start of Christmas late night shopping until 9pm every Thursday until Christmas.


Santa's Ice Castle

Opens Thursday 13 November

Fairground rides

13 November to 5 January
Sundial and city centre

During the holidays a number of fairground rides will sited around the city centre, including Frankfort Gate and Armada Way.


Christmas craft market

24 November to 23 December
Piazza

A welcome return of the Christmas craft market set up on the Piazza offering handcrafted goods and unique gifts.
