With 25 stalls setting up twice a month selling a wide variety of local produce, the city centre farmers market is a lively and bustling market to visit. Situated by the sundial in the heart of the city centre shoppers can source produce which has been reared, grown or made by local farmers.

Visitors to the market can expect to find locally reared ostrich meat, pork, beef, lamb, locally grown strawberries and vegetables, plus locally produced cheeses, chutney, pies and pasties. The market is held in the city centre on the second Saturday of the month and is open from 9am to 5pm.


Continental market

16 to 19 October

Some of the finest in European food, drink and craftwork will be on offer when Plymouth City Centre welcomes back the hugely popular continental market.

Traders from France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Holland, Poland, Hungary and Greece will provide a real taste of Europe at the event being held from Thursday 5 April to Saturday 7 April in the Armada Way piazza.

Already the largest event of its kind in the south west, the continental market promises to be even bigger and better this year with some exciting new traders due to be selling their wares alongside returning old favourites.


Respect festival

25 and 26 October

Plymouth Racial Equality Council (REC) hold this annual family fun day to celebrate and promote the cultural diversity of the city.

A range of activities are planned for the day with musical performances, workshops, children's and youth activities, ethnic food stalls, henna tattooing, clothes show and much more. Visit the Plymouth Respect Festival website for more information.
