Plymouth City Market at Frankfurt Gate – formerly Plymouth Pannier Market – has provided a focal point for local traders and shoppers for almost fifty years.

Historically there has always been a market in Plymouth but once the original pannier market was bombed during the second world in 1941, construction began on the new market which opened in 1959.

With over 100 stalls, shoppers will find a diverse range of both local produce – including the farmers market - and household goods alike, including:

Normal opening times for the city market are:

• Monday - 8am to 5.30pm
• Tuesday - 8am to 5.30pm
• Wednesday - 8am to 4.30pm
• Thursday - 8am to 5.30pm
• Friday - 8am to 5.30pm
• Saturday - 8am to 5.30pm
• Sunday – Closed
