Farmers market
With around 25 stalls setting up every month selling a wide variety of local produce, the city centre farmers’ market is a lively and bustling market to visit. Situated in Lower New George Street, part of the newly developed West End of the city centre, shoppers can source produce, which has been reared, grown or made by local farmers.
Visitors to the market can expect to find locally reared ostrich meat, pork, beef, lamb; locally grown strawberries and vegetables, plus locally produced cheeses, chutney, pies and pasties.
Due to the success and popular demand by both food producers and the public, the farmers’ market is in town twice a month on the second and fourth Saturday of every month in Lower New George Street, 9am to 4.30pm. Please visit the Farmers market calendar page for up-to-date forthcoming farmers market dates.
The National Farmers’ Retail and Markets Association (FARMA) has certified this market.
