Guidelines and general information
- Produce sold at the market must be locally grown and produced.
- Local means within 30 mile radius of Plymouth.
- The maximum distance from which producers may travel is 50 miles for difficult to source produce.
- When space becomes available at the market, local producers will receive preference, without compromising quality.
- Stalls must be staffed by someone who is directly involved in growing, raising or producing the goods on sale.
- No bought in produce may be resold without further processing. Wherever possible, processed goods should contain at least 10% ingredients of local origin.
- No Genetically modified produce, or goods containing genetically modified ingredients may be knowingly sold.
- Producers must comply with current Trading Standards and Environmental Health requirements.
- Producers must maintain their own employee, public and products liability insurance.
- All produce must be displayed within the stall itself, the displaying of goods outside a stall is not permitted.
- Parking is available on waste land at North Cross Car Park, unloading of vehicles must be completed before 8.30 am and loading cannot commence before 4pm.
- Plymouth City Centre Pedestrian area maintains a strictly no parking policy. Vehicles are not permitted to remain at the market site or any other unauthorised space within Plymouth City Centre.
