Public conveniences in Plymouth

All public conveniences are checked, cleaned and restocked twice daily. Each toilet is attended for as long as it is being cleaned, which takes approximately 45 minutes.

An attendant starts opening the toilets around the city at 6am each morning, and all toilets will be open by 8.30am. There is no charge for using any public convenience maintained by Plymouth City Council.

The following table is a list of all our public conveniences, their opening times and the facilities available.

Summer runs from 1 May to 30 September and winter from 1 October to 31 April. The times shown are the times the public conveniences are locked.

RADAR Key Scheme

The Royal Association for Disability and Rehabilitation (RADAR) is a national organisation for disabled people. The National Key Scheme offers independent access to disabled people to around 4,000 locked public toilets around the country. It ensures that people who need them can always find a suitable and accessible toilet in a good clean condition.

RADAR keys can be purchased at a cost of £4 from the cash hall in the Civic Centre and at the Tourist Information Centre, Plymouth Mayflower, 3 to 5 The Barbican, Plymouth PL1 2LR. Telephone 01752 606331. In order to obtain a key you must provide relevant documentation.
