Plymouth Domestic Abuse Partnership
Who are we?
The Plymouth Domestic Abuse Partnership is made up of senior representatives from Plymouth Community Safety Partnership, Devon and Cornwall Police, National Health Service, Plymouth City Council, Devon and Cornwall Probation Service and Supporting People.
What do we do?
Representatives are expected to undertake the role of domestic abuse champion within their own organisations and to commit to improving services.
What are our aims and objectives?
Our aim is to reduce incidence of domestic abuse and to create a safer community in which all agencies work in partnership to provide people who are experiencing abuse with consistent, high quality advice, housing and support.
We work to a strategy and action plan, published following an analysis of local need and consultation with service users and stakeholders.
Domestic Abuse Strategy [1.6MB]
The key objectives of this strategy are to:
- Improve agencies' responses to families affected by domestic abuse
- Ensure appropriate access to services for children and young people affected by domestic abuse
- Develop targeted prevention initiatives
- Ensure appropriate civil and criminal justice responses to domestic abuse incidents
- Develop appropriate accommodation options
- Establish appropriate access to services for people with diverse needs
This multi-agency strategy provides the necessary framework and impetus for effective partnership working and the delivery of well co-ordinated, properly funded advice, housing and support services for people affected by domestic abuse.
