Weston Mill Baby Garden

The Baby Garden located within Weston Mill Cemetery is a communal burial area for the burial of babies less than one month old, stillborn babies and non-viable foetuses. The memorial garden was formally set aside in 1984 and was specially designed to provide families with a place where they can find peace and tranquillity for moments of quiet reflection.

Listed below is some information about the communal Baby Garden, but if you have any further questions please contact the cemetery office.

• All cemetery fees are waived for a baby burial.
• At all baby burials the grave will be dressed with artificial grass mats and a service will take place.
• Once the burial has taken place your baby can not be exhumed and moved to another location.
• The only items that are permitted on the grassed area are fresh cut flowers which must also have any wrappers removed (any other items including individual markers will be removed).
• If you would like to leave a small personal baby related item (not glass, ceramics/pottery, wind chimes, flags, windmills, lighting or balloons) for your baby then you may leave this on the patio area next to the wooden bench. Any damaged and unsuitable items will be removed.
• You may wish to arrange one of our baby memorials for your baby. For further details please see below.
• Burial of adults or the burial or scattering of their cremated remains are not allowed.

Book of Remembrance

The book is situated in the Book of Remembrance Room next to the waiting room in the chapel complex. It is in two six monthly volumes with a page allocated to each day of the year. Every morning the page is turned so that entries may be seen on each anniversary. The inscription is free of charge.

Rose bush

The roses are already planted within the Baby Garden area and are available on a five or 10 year renewable lease. A plaque bearing a short inscription is placed with each rose. No flowers or other items are permitted in the rose beds.

Vase block

The vase blocks are made of granite and are situated within the Baby Garden area. They are available on a 10, 15 or 20 year renewable lease and are intended only for the placing of fresh or silk flowers. The price includes the vase block, flower vase and a tablet with an inscription.
