Marriage venues
The law states that marriages must take place in buildings that have been sanctioned for the solemnisation of marriage. Whilst religious ceremonies are conducted in churches and chapels, the Marriage Act 1994 provided the opportunity for couples to be married in approved premises as well as register offices.
