Professional Pages
This page has been designed for anyone who wishes to have access to some of the common publications that are used by professionals. We are continuing to develop these pages and your ideas would be very helpful, please email parent.partnership@plymouth.gov.uk with further suggestions about the contents of the Professionals' pages or if you come across an acronym in any way relevant to Children’s Services that you can’t find here.
Glossary of Acronyms

|
This inclusion of an Acronym list (Word Document - 354 KB) arose from requests made in Child Concern Model training sessions. Participants in that training were trying to understand how colleagues in other agencies viewed work with children and families. Everybody was coming across a wide range of unfamiliar acronyms. Acronyms are often incredibly useful as a shorthand, but we all know the way they can act as barriers to cross agency understanding. |
Here is a list of Education acronyms which is linked to the School Governors website.
The Family and Parenting Institute
The Family and Parenting Institute is the leading centre of expertise on families and parenting in the UK. Each month they produce a newsletter on issues affecting families. The current and past editions can be found at Family Focus - The Family and Parenting Newsletter.
