Third Sector Strategy

Plymouth 2020's vision as set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy is to become one of Europe's finest, most vibrant waterfront cities, where an outstanding quality of life is enjoyed by everyone. This is only possible where communities are engaged and involved in decisions that impact on their everyday lives, supported by an independent and diverse third sector (the voluntary and community sector).

This strategy has been prepared in response to a number of changes in the third sector in Plymouth over the last twelve months in particular the closure of Plymouth Community Partnership (PCP) and the development of Plymouth Third Sector Consortium.

The strategic priorities are outlined in the final section. Eight priorities have been formulated and agreed to meet the developmental and support needs to ensure that we foster an environment for a thriving third sector. An implementation plan setting out how each of the priorities will be delivered is included at Appendix 3.
