The Vital Spark

The Vital Spark sets out clearly and unequivocally how and why culture is key to transforming Plymouth into 'one of Europe's finest, most vibrant waterfront cities, where an outstanding quality of life is enjoyed by everyone'. It distils and brings together in one place, a lot of thinking, planning and advocacy that has already been done by a whole host of committed people.

The Vital Spark is the work of the Wise Group of the Plymouth 2020 Partnership. It reflects our confidence that as a twenty-first century city, Plymouth will become an exceptional place in which future generations will be proud to grow up, live, study and work, and a unique destination that people will want to visit. We believe that culture is at the heart of that confidence and that intention.
