Statement of Accounts 2007 to 2008
The Council is required to produce an annual Statement of Accounts. This document shows local people and others what services the Council has spent money on during the year, how these have been funded, and the financial position at the year-end. Inevitably it contains technical language and a glossary to help explain some of the terms can be found at the back of the document.
The Draft Accounts for 2007/08 were approved by Audit Committee on 30 June 2008. The Accounts will now be audited by the Council’s external auditor, Grant Thornton UK. The Council is required to publish the final document by 30 September 2008. Members of the public and other interested bodies may inspect the accounts during office hours Mondays to Fridays from 23 July to 19 August 2008 inclusive.
