Election of City Councillors
An election of one City Councillor for each of the following wards is to be held on Thursday 1 May 2008
- Budshead
- Honicknowle
- Plymstock Radford
- Compton
- Moor View
- St Budeaux
- Devonport
- Peverell
- St Peter and the Waterfront
- Plympton Chaddlewood
- Plympton Erle
- Southway
- Efford and Lipson
- Plympton St Mary
- Stoke
- Eggbuckland
- Plymstock Dunstone
- Sutton and Mount Gould
- Ham
Nomination papers may be obtained from the Returning Officer at the Civic Centre, Plymouth during normal office hours. At the request of an elector, the Returning Officer will prepare a nomination paper for signature.
Completed nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer at the Civic Centre, Plymouth during normal office hours, on any day after the date of this notice, but not later than noon on Friday 4 April 2008.
If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 1 May 2008 between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
Postal and proxy voting
To be effective for these elections, please note the deadlines as follows:
- For making new applications to vote by post, or to change or cancel an existing postal vote, proxy appointment or postal proxy arrangement - applications must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer at the Civic Centre, Plymouth not later than 5pm on Wednesday 16 April 2008.
- For making new applications to vote by proxy - applications must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Civic Centre, Plymouth not later than 5pm on Wednesday 23 April 2008.
- For making applications to vote by proxy in the case of a medical emergency occurring after Wednesday 23 April 2008 - applications must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Civic Centre, Plymouth not later than 5pm on Thursday 1 May 2008.
