Voting

Why vote?

Your vote will help to choose the people who will act as our representatives at the European Parliament. By voting in European Parliamentary elections, you choose who influences your future and the daily life of close to 500 million European citizens. If you don't bother, somebody else will - and decide who represents you at the only directly elected Pan-European assembly. Elected MEPs will shape the future for the next five years.

Who can vote?

If you are a citizen of Britain, The Commonwealth, Cyprus, Malta or the Republic of Ireland, you will automatically be able to vote in these elections if you are registered.

You can apply to vote by completing the registration form.

If you are a citizen of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain or Sweden you can choose to vote in this election in respect of an address in Plymouth or in respect of an address in the country for which you are a citizen. Forms and further information for other EU citizens is available from Electoral Services.

How to vote

The voting process is very easy.

The About my vote website takes you through a virtual polling station and the process of voting.

Plymouth City Council has produced a booklet and application form for people who have learning difficulties.
