Project support

In addition to supporting its core clients the Council gives periodic project support to:

AVID

The Arts Unit is financially supporting the Diversity for Arts which is seeking to develop projects and identify ways of ensuring that mainstream arts venues are accessible to the city's growing black and ethnic minority communities. Telephone: 01752 202612.

Plymouth Music Week

The brainchild of Plymouth Music Industry Group the Arts Unit has supported this very successful initiative, launched in 2005 to raise the profile of music and the music industry in Plymouth. It secured a major sponsorship deal for 2006 with Orange and gained massive support and sponsorship from local businesses and organisations, with events including Razorlight, Keane, An Evening with Joe Boyd, Louise Parker, and Music Industry Seminars.

Following the huge success of Orange Plymouth Music Week 2006, in which there were 100 gigs in 100 days and approximately 21,500 attendees at the events, Plymouth Music Industry Group and The Arts Unit are working hard to deliver an even bigger event in 2007.

Theatre Alibi

Flameworks Creative Arts Facility

Plymouth's only artist run studio space company. Nearly 20 artists - including ceramicists, jewellers, metalworkers and sculptors, occupy waterside site in Devonport with a range of specialist equipment. Telephone: 01752 559326.or visit the Flameworks website.
