The Barbican Theatre
The Barbican Theatre has been producing high quality theatre for over 25 years and currently delivers an integrated programme of promoted work for new and emerging companies, theatre in education touring and extensive open access arts education including youth theatre, contemporary dance, new writing and trapeze. Plymouth Arts Centre
Plymouth Arts Centre is a renowned centre for contemporary visual arts and independent film. It is fast becoming a leader in the field of new media presentation, as well as providing a vibrant and hugely popular social and cultural meeting place. Plymouth Arts Centre is the focus and stimulus for an expanding and successful regional, cultural and creative industry sector. Currently, Plymouth Arts Centre has three galleries, a cinema, artist studio, education and multi purpose studio space, and a hugely popular Vegetarian Cafe that was a Vegetarian Society Award 2005 nominee. The Soundhouse
The Soundhouse is one of the most successful community music organisations in the country, a unique collaboration involving mainstream education, youth arts, disability music initiatives, the commercial music sector and the wider community. The project involves over 300 people each week in a variety of workshops, including Europe's top youth steel bands Real Steel, Soundhouse Brass, junk-percussion band, Weapons of Sound, African drumming groups, vocal ensembles and the youth break dancing group, Beatbreakers.Telephone: 01752 207881 or visit the Soundhouse website.
Plymouth Music Collective
Plymouth Music Collective is the new name for Plymouth Musicians' Co-operative which for the last 18 years has run rehearsal rooms, event management, free music industry advice, an affordable professional recording studio live promotion, stage hire, and provided periodic music showcases for the best local talent. The Barefoot Project
The Barefoot Project is Plymouth's Arts Education Partnership Agency. Its job is to link the worlds of art and education. Since 1999 Barefoot has been working with schools, communities, artists and arts organisations in the city to give young (and not so young) people more opportunities to develop their creativity. Barefoot provides information, advice, brokerage between artists and schools and training, as well as instigation and management of a number of creative projects. Attik Dance
Attik Dance is a vibrant and vital contemporary dance company, the only one of its kind in the South West. It creates new work in collaboration with dancers, musicians, composers, directors and filmmakers of the highest calibre and tours this work nationally. The Company specialises in communicating through dance and sharing its creative process, and each tour is supported by activities such as workshops in schools or lecture demonstrations.
