Festivals
There are a variety of events and festivals, which take place in the city throughout the year. These range from major events, which attract tens of thousands of people to the Hoe to Community Carnivals and Fun Days, held in local parks.
Plymouth Festival
Plymouth Festival Organisers Plymouth Musician's Cooperative (PMC) have promised a range of internationally renowned and top regional artists.
Festival of Music Speech, Drama and Dance
The City of Plymouth Festival of Music Speech, Drama and Dance is open to all age groups starting each year in July for Dance and followed in November with Speech, Drama and Music.
The Festival is held in the Athenaeum Theatre and Wesley Methodist Church. There are classes for poetry, prose recital, bible reading, drama, singing ; instrumental music, classical, popular, folk, jazz individual groups, all forms of dance, solos, duet, trios and groups.

The Plymouth Folk Festival
The Plymouth Folk Festival week aims to add colour, contrast, some fun and variety to the Plymouth City Centre and Mayflower and Barbican quayside areas. At the same time while promoting traditional music and customs the Festival is a platform for showcasing some of our best local artists, dancers and bands.
