Museums

The Museum Service looks after several historic buildings, over 300,000 artefacts, 80,000 photographs and a number of historic collections are cared for and conserved at the above locations.

Thousands of historic documents are also housed at a variety of other locations including Mount Edgcumbe House and Buckland Abbey.

Temporary exhibitions, lectures and workshops are held throughout the year. A Museum Education Service also operates at Museum locations and as an Outreach Service.

The Museum houses permanent displays drawn from our Art, Human History and Natural History Collections. This is supported by a varied programme of visiting exhibitions, events, workshops, talks and concerts, for all ages and interests.

Museum in Transit enables us to deliver our services directly into the local community and schools while our Learning Team offers a comprehensive education and outreach service.
