Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park

Mount Edgcumbe House is the former home of the Earls of Mount Edgcumbe. Set in Grade I Cornish Gardens within 865 acres Country Park on the Rame Peninsula, South East Cornwall.

Whether you are searching for a venue for a family outing or group visit, enthused by the magnificent Grade I Cornish gardens and famous historic house, combining your visit with a cruise of the River Tamar, looking for a civil wedding venue or viewing the national collection of camellias you are invited to come and explore, enjoy, learn its history or even dream awhile.

Mount Edgcumbe House was first built in the 1500s and was restored after World War Two. It is jointly owned by Cornwall Council and Plymouth City Council and is one of the regions most popular historic tourist destinations.

The House and Earl's Garden (admission charged) re-opens for the season on Sunday 31 March to Wednesday 25 September 2013. It is open Sunday to Thursday and bank holiday Mondays between 11am and 4.30pm. Tickets for the House can be purchased from the gift shop inside the House during normal opening times. Group bookings can also be arranged in March and October.

Mount Edgcumbe also has various conference suites and meeting rooms available throughout the year on a room hire or day delegate basis. Have a look at our brochure below for details.

The wider park is open year round, daily from 8am to dusk and is free to the public. The free area of the park includes the National Camellia Collection and the majority of the formal gardens.

Refreshments and gifts can be purchased at the Cremyll Shop inside the gate in the lower park which is open daily from Friday 29 March 2013.

The Stables is now open daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm, serving all day breakfast, home cooked meals and soups, freshly cut club and doorstep sandwiches, cream teas, homemade cakes and fair trade coffee. Call 01752 823 823 for further information.

The Orangery will be open daily from Friday 22 March until Wednesday 25 September between 10.30am and 4.30pm. Please note the Orangery may occasionally be closed for private functions during these dates.
