Photography competition
Spirit of Mount Edgcumbe
Local amateur photographers were recently given the opportunity to capture the spirit of Mount Edgcumbe for a seasonal competition.
Photographers are invited to help record aspects of Mount Edgcumbe Country Park on the beautiful Rame peninsula near Plymouth.
At all times of year Mount Edgcumbe is a place to capture with thousands of daffodils, primroses and specimens from the national camellia collection in flower within the 865 acre coastal park. With its exceptional 56 listed buildings, exotic trees and panoramic views, the location offers huge opportunities for both professional and amateur photographers.
The aim is to collect as many pictures as possible each season and to make a selection (chosen by an expert panel) that could be exhibited or used to help promote the estate as part of its exciting 2008 to 2009 redevelopment programme. Photographers may also have work commissioned in response to their submissions.
Images of the garden, its fascinating buildings, trees, plants, flowers (particularly those from the national camellia collection) and views are all welcomed.
Photographers are invited to submit their work by the end of February for the winter selection.
To send images of Mount Edgcumbe email Tracey Clark at trclarke@cornwall.gov.uk.
