• Tuesday to Friday - 10am to 5.30pm
• Saturday and Bank Holiday Mondays - 10am to 5pm

Shop and cafe opening times

• Tuesday to Saturday and Bank Holiday Mondays - 10.30am to 4pm

Galleries

We have ten permanent galleries for you to see - four of which were newly opened at the start of 2009. In these spaces you can view thousands of objects and artworks from our world cultures, Ancient Egypt, archaeology, maritime and local history, natural history, fine art and decorative art collections. Exhibitions

We are busy de-installing our former major exhibition, 'Sir Joshua Reynolds: The Acquisition of Genius' in preparation for two new shows: 'Sir John St. Aubyn - The Secret Life of a Collector' and 'Kurt Jackson: River'.
