We aim to provide the very best arts and heritage facilities in Plymouth but we need your help.
Volunteering with the museum is an invaluable way to help preserve the collections, improve our knowledge of them, enhance access to those collections and information, enthuse about what Plymouth holds, entertain and engage our visitors, learn something new, have fun and get involved.
The Friends of Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery (FPCMAG) is a registered charity whose principal purpose is to support the work of the Arts and Heritage Service and help acquire objects for public display.
Thanks to the administrative support of the Friends of Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery and the generosity of the family of Maureen Attrill, bursaries are now available for up to £1,000 to support research into a topic related to the art and decorative art collections held by Plymouth City Council. Bursaries are open to staff at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery or other museums within the South West, students at Plymouth University, the University of St Mark & St John and Plymouth College of Art and members of the University of the Third Age. The closing date for applications is 5pm on Monday 23 March 2015.
