Adult learning
Education isn't just about schools!
We provide a range of learning opportunities for adults as well.
If your group has special needs we can help provide extra opportunities for them to fully enjoy the Museum. These include handling sessions conducted by members of the Learning Team and other events to suit your needs. We also provide:
Plymouth City Museum Creative Writers
The Creative Writing course is open to writers of all levels and our termly sessions all take their inspiration from the Museum’s handling collections.
“The course is open to everyone and all attendees will have a chance to develop their writing skills, be creative and get an insight into the Museum,” says Donna Hanns, Assistant Outreach and Access Officer.
Sessions run from 10am until 12.30pm for ten weeks during term time. Places are free but must be booked in advance. To enrol and get more information, please contact Donna Hanns, Outreach Team on 01752 304771.
Take a look at our exhibition response area to see some examples of work produced by members of the group during 2006. Examples of recent work produced in conjunction with the Museum's SNOWDON: Iconic Images exhibition (10 February to 7 May 2007) are also available.
University of the Third Age
The Museum also runs a research course in partnership with Plymouth University of the Third Age (U3A). If you are interested in joining the course get in touch with the Plymouth U3A or contact us.
