SNOWDON: Iconic Images
Schools and Early Years Exhibition Response
In response to the SNOWDON: Iconic Images exhibition our Education Officers worked alongside artists, photographers and storytellers with young children, exploring the themes of identity with photography and stories inspired by Lord Snowdon’s images.
Primary Schools
Artists Ali Roscoe and Erica Forster worked with three primary schools in the city. Children from Mount Street Primary School created their own portraits, pupils at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Primary School photographed each other and drew portraits based on their pictures and children at Oreston Primary School were taught how to use a camera and then took portraits of their teachers.
Secondary Schools
Artists Jo Tyler and Martina Rooney worked with students from the Newstart Gateway Department, City College and Tamarside.
Special Schools
Jo Tyler and Martina Rooney also worked with pupils from Hillside School.
The 'Imaginators’
Our Early Years group worked with Ali Roscoe and Erica Forster to create portraits for their parents/carers from a range of materials supplied.
