Please use the links to the left for more information about our headline projects. Here’s a summary of the different projects we’ve worked on so far:

2004

September

  • Logo and name designed for The Munch Bunch

October

  • ‘Me, Myself and My Portrait’ film project, activities and exhibition


2005

March

  • First internal newsletter designed and printed
  • ‘Me, myself and My Portrait’ film shown at the Upstart Film Festival, Plymouth Arts Centre

April

  • Joined Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme
  • Ancient seas fossil research and display
  • Visit to Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum, Spacex Gallery and Phoenix Arts Centre. Consultation session to contribute to a report about young visitors to museums
  • Photography workshop

July

September

  • First public newsletter designed and printed

August

October

  • The Big Draw Day activities planned and led by members
  • Name of group changed to The Core and new logo designed

November

  • Ground floor re-development consultation to contribute ideas from young people’s perspective


2006

February

  • Heavy involvement in Access All Areas exhibition including organisation of main opening event and related music workshops, design of promotional materials and publicity with local press

June

  • Ghanaian theatre exchange students meeting and tour of Mount Edgcumbe

July

September

  • The Core's 'myspace' page was set up

October

December

  • The Big Think took place, to help development of The Core


2007

January

  • The Core took part in a consultation for 'Human Cargo', a forthcoming exhibition to celebrate the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade

April

June

  • Backstage tours with Members of the Youth Parliament and Musiczone youth forum, Tempo

2008

March

  • Secured nearly £3,000 from the Youth Opportunities Fund and Youth Capital Fund which enabled a visit to London to meet and exchange ideas with Tate Modern’s youth forum, Raw Canvas

May

  • One of only four youth groups to take part in the 'Stories of the World' consultation process for the UK Cultural Olympiad


Ongoing work

Radio interviews; consultation on ground floor redevelopment, involvement in exhibitions, website development; logo development; and Youth Opportunities Fund bid.
