Graffiti Garden
This project was started by the original members of The Munch Bunch (our former name) to decorate a new picnic area for school groups at the Museum.
Members of the group chose an area (such as Natural History) or a specific exhibit (such as the Bronze Age grave) from within the Museum as their inspiration. We then explored these through individual mood boards before bringing all the separate elements together into a final design.
The design was then spray painted in graffiti style onto separate panels to fit together in sequence. Each member of the group was responsible for certain sections of the design rather than certain panels, so we had to work hard to join the various elements together. Two local graffiti artists called Roy and Frazer helped us - teaching us spray painting techniques such as blending and shadowing.
The results of our hard work are now on display in the school garden and were officially launched with a special evening event organised by us in July 2006.
