Volunteering with the museum is an invaluable way to help preserve the collections, improve our knowledge of them, enhance access to those collections and information, enthuse about what Plymouth holds, entertain and engage our visitors, learn something new, have fun and get involved.
Volunteering can offer you the opportunity to meet up professionally and socially with other volunteers and museum staff, add experience to your CV, get involved in something unusual or simply get out of the house.
The aim of our work is to provide excellent visitor experience, collections care and management, and to promote the museum to the people of Plymouth. Volunteer projects help us to do more, reach more and offer more.
We have just recruited a number of new volunteers, but if you are looking for volunteer work, please keep an eye on this page. We offer a variety of projects at different times of the year and details of the latest opportunities will appear here.
Opportunities are available during the week helping on our Discovery Desks and as Gallery Invigilator-Interpreters. Please see the First Hand page for more details.
We have no other roles at the moment, but please keep an eye on this page for new opportunities.
Our Volunteer handbook, which explains what we can offer and what the organisation would need from you, is available below.
