Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

Under the Childcare Act 2006 local authorities take on a new duty from April 2008 to ensure, so far as is reasonably possible, that the provision of childcare is sufficient to meet the requirements of parents in their area in order to enable them to work or undertake education or training leading to work. Early Learning and Childcare places

As of April 2010 the early learning and childcare funding for three and four year olds increased to 15 hours per week. Your child is entitled to up to 15 hours of free early learning and childcare each week for up to 38 weeks a year during school term time.

Inclusion Works

This service supports the inclusion of disabled children and young people (0 to 16) during their transition into play, leisure and extended schools opportunities, wrap-around-care, childminding and early years provisions.

Toolkit - Online Safety

The toolkit consists of a series of model policies, procedures and forms to support the development of safer online practice in early years settings.

Toolkit - Toddlers

The aim of the toolkit is to promote healthy eating, good hygiene practices and an awareness of other safety and well-being issues amongst parents of children aged 0 to 3 years old. This information is for the provider sector (pre-schools, nurseries, out of school clubs and child minders).

Safeguarding audit

A summary report based on the safeguarding audits carried out in the early years sector has to be delivered to Plymouth Safeguarding Children Board on an annual basis. It is also a requirement for all funded settings to complete the audit.
