Trio childcare connections

Trio provide support, advice and professional development services to childminders and in some cases early years group settings. Trio provide a programme of support, advice and training for early education and childcare providers to encourage high quality, inclusive practice in meeting the needs of all children and adults in their setting.

We aim to support childminders by:

• Allocating each childminder their own dedicated Trio Childcare Development Worker (CDW) who offers a minimum of one annual support visit plus telephone/email support
• Running childminder pre-registration briefings for those interested in becoming a registered childminder
• Providing ‘doorstep workshops’, giving the childminder an opportunity to have taster 'training' in their own home
• Running the Trio Children Come First (CCF) network which supports childminders to raise the quality of the service they offer to children and their families and enables them to offer the early learning and childcare places
• Signposting to other professionals who can support with training, business matters and raising quality of care
• Working in close partnership with children’s centres to assist in supporting childminders from the local community
• Facilitating childminder support meetings where childminders can network and take part in development opportunities
