Term dates
School term and holiday dates are set by the Local Authority (LA) for community, voluntary controlled (VC) and maintained nursery schools. Governing bodies set the term dates for foundation and voluntary aided schools. Please see our schools directory page for information on individual school category.
2007 to 2008
School governing bodies set occasional and professional development days for their schools, known as non-pupil days. The governing bodies of individual schools will allocate 10 non-pupil days from within these dates. The information published has been provided to the LA by schools in July 2007. Therefore the LA cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information should a school amend their dates. Parents or carers are advised to contact the school direct when relying on this information to make holiday or transport arrangements. Where 10 days have not been listed then the remaining days are still to be confirmed by the school. You can download details of the non-pupil days for 2007 to 2008 from the documents table below.
Following comments from parents or carers and staff about published school term and holiday dates for 2007 to 2008 we recently consulted with head teachers and staff. The majority of those that responded felt it was better to change the 2008 Easter holiday dates to bring them into line with Devon County Council. The revised Easter holiday for 2007 to 2008 will be 7 April to 18 April and parents or carers and staff have been informed of this change by the schools. There are no other changes to this calendar.
