Conservation
Our work is concerned primarily with the protection and enhancement of Plymouth's Natural and Historic Environment. Encouraging and providing for people's appreciation and enjoyment of the city's wildlife and natural resource.
The main areas of our work include:
- managing designated Local Nature Reserves and Sites of Special Scientific Interest
- developing programmes and strategies for protection, conservation, enhancement and wider appreciation of Plymouth's natural heritage
- monitoring of the city's habitats and species
We are also responsible for 7 Local Nature Reserves and 10 Community Woodlands.
