Efford Marsh Local Nature Reserve
Efford Marsh Local Nature Reserve extends for 26 hectares. Its more important habitats include ponds, willow carr (thickets), swampy marshland, scrub, mature deciduous woodlands, old field systems and 9 hectares of young woodland planted in 1993/4.
The prime management initiatives in the reserve, besides maintaining and improving public access, are chiefly directed to a mowing regime in the old field systems which favours wild flower meadows and the control of invasive willow carr in the marshland.
