Devon Biodiversity Records Centre has the role of collecting data and conducting surveys in order to assess and monitor Devon's biodiversity.

A number of organisations have excellent websites that are well worth visiting if you are interested in finding out more about a particular type of wildlife. For information about birds a visit to the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) website is highly recommended. As well as containing an online field guide to birds there is also information on a wide range of other wildlife.

The Mammal Society is an organisation solely dedicated to the study and conservation of british mammals. Their website contains a number of fact sheets about particular mammals.
