Level 2 Award Food Safety in Catering
This is an essential qualification for anyone working with food, particularly in catering, hospitality, pubs, hotels, hospitals and care homes.
This new qualification has replaced the Foundation or 'Basic' food hygiene course.
The topics covered during the course include:
- legislation
- food safety hazards
- temperature control
- refrigeration and chilling
- cooking, hot holding and reheating
- food handling
- principles of safe food storage
- cleaning
- food premises and equipment
Assessment method
- 30 question multiple choice exam which is taken at the end of the course
Duration and cost
- The course can be delivered to suit the candidates; one complete day or two half days either during the daytime or in the evening
