East End/Eastern Gateway Area Action Plan

The City Council's vision for the East End is to create a sustainable, mixed-use urban district in Plymouth's East End that is well connected to the waterfront; provides a high quality Eastern Gateway to the city and maintains a thriving commercial port.

This Area Action Plan will set out land use policies and proposals to deliver strategic transport solutions for the Eastern Corridor; to enable mixed use regeneration at waterfront regeneration sites; to create a sustainable mixed use community in East Coxside and to enhance the commercial port of Cattedown and marine related employment.

Where we are

We completed the Issues and Options stage in March 2005, the timescale for the preparation of the Council's preferred options for the East End/Eastern Gateway has been revised, please see the latest Local Development Scheme for details.
