Design Strategies - Supplementary Planning Document

Sustainable Design in Plymouth

This Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides guidance to developers and other users of the planning system on a wide range of sustainable design matters including: urban design, historic environment, climate change and biodiversity. The SPD adds value to existing adopted Core Strategy policies relating to sustainable design.

While this document is not subject to independent examination, and therefore will not have development plan status, it is subject to the procedures of community involvement and sustainability appraisal, and when adopted can constitute a material consideration when making decisions on development proposals.
