Planning Obligations and Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document

This Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides guidance to developers and other users of the planning system regarding the basis on which planning obligations will be sought and further guidance on the requirement to provide affordable housing.

While this document is not subject to independent examination, and therefore will not have development plan status, it is subject to the procedures of community involvement and sustainability appraisal, and when adopted can constitute a material consideration when making decisions on development proposals. A material consideration is a matter that should be taken into account in deciding a planning application or an appeal against a planning decision.

Where we are

The draft Planning Obligations and Affordable Housing SPD was consulted on (in accordance with Local Development Regulation 17) over a six week period from 9 November 2007 until 21 December 2007.
